The Heat Gun Method
Replacing your stick tip using a heat gun is a commonly used method, but it comes with certain risks. Since the tips are made of plastic, direct heat can easily damage them if not handled properly.
Whenever possible, we recommend checking with your local retailer to see if they offer this service, as they have the proper tools and expertise to complete the installation safely.
You’ll need a pair of protective gloves and a heat gun.
Using the heat gun, hold it about 5 inches (12 cm) away from the shaft and gently heat the end. Rotate the shaft every 5 to 10 seconds to evenly distribute the heat on all sides. *Warning: Never direct the heat directly onto the plastic tip, as it could melt and become damaged.*
While wearing protective gloves, use both hands to gently pull the tip out of the shaft.
